| BK
virus (BKV) DNA quantitation is based upon the real-time
PCR amplification and detection
of BKV genomic DNA. The quantitative range of this
assay is 500 to 1.0 x 10e10 BKV DNA copies/ml. A patient
value of less than 500 BKV DNA copies/ml indicates
that the patient’s viral load is below the quantitative
limit of this assay, and does not indicate that the
patient is not infected with BKV.
